A good quality, very large Northern Italian desk

c1890.

This very imposing desk has nine drawers in total, with four to each pedestal, and one central to the kneehole. All locks and escutcheons are present, with quality brass swan-neck handles and ornate escutcheons.

The desk sides and back are attractively panelled, having inset panels of figured walnut.

To the top is an inset velvet writing surface with a glass covering. We are currently having a leather made to fit the top. If you are interested in the desk, we would be happy to have the leather made to your requirements, colour, tooling etc. If you would like to purchase the desk as is, we would be happy to offer it at a reduced purchase price.

Standing on very stylish, shaped bracket feet.

Very solid sturdy and strong, all drawers open smoothly.

The overall condition is very good, having general expected signs of use consistent with age, the swan-neck handles appear to be replacements, but are stylistically correct for the design of the desk.
