Culvertons has dated this piece to the 1900s.
The carcass is constructed of mahogany and oak. The leather writing surface is laid on to oak rather than a soft wood, and the drawer linings are also of oak.

The reverse is well finished with dummy drawers and cupboards - allowing the desk to be placed anywhere within the room.
The swan neck handles are well cast originals as are the locks (which are in working order and a key is supplied)

The lovely quality tooled hide writing surface is of some age and shows indications of wear; personally that really appeals to me but you might be of a different opinion , and if thats the case the hide can be easily changed for one of the same quality to the colour of your choice if you so desire.

24 inches to the underside of the middle drawer and 30 inches overall height provides the perfect working dimensions for the owner.
30 inches high
32 " deep
54 " wide
