Steve Sly Japanese Works of Art has dated this piece to the 1920s.
The desk is intended for use either against a wall or preferably room central due to the consistant veneers and carvings on all sides, the top is inset with a three piece tooled leather scribe, the serpentine shaped front houses a central drawer between a pair of bow fronted four drawer pedestals all resting on a well carved cabriole legged base, the desk is further decorated with applied corner mouldings and crisply carved moulded cornices top and bottom.
The condition of this desk is as good as you would wish for given its age, a few minor hairline scratches and one 2" stable veneer crack to report ,lovely clean original waxed condition ready for immediate home use.
