Fred Cecil Jones RBA was born in Bradford in 1891. After studying at Leeds and Bradford Colleges of Art he taught art at Pudsey Grammar School and was Deputy Principal of Pudsey School of Art. He exhibited widely and his watercolours are now highly prized.
''ACROSS THE FULNEC VALLEY, NEAR LEEDS'' is a pencil and watercolour showing a view of the valley from the unusual setting of the inside of a barn.
It is signed, inscribed and dated 1928, and measures 9''x 6.'' It is framed in a good modern mount and gilt frame.
