Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This large nineteenth century French Provincial enfilade dates from 1860 and is constructed from painted pine with a slab marble top. The piece is finished in a cream colour and features six cupboard doors with recessed rectangular panels, six small drawers aligned in a multi-drawer design, and round brass knobs on each door and drawer. Subtle surface wear and distressing are visible across the painted timber frame, highlighting its age. The dimensions are 101 cm high, 306 cm wide, and 44 cm deep. In a contemporary home, this substantial sideboard provides extensive storage for a dining room, living room, or hallway. The long marble top offers a practical surface for displaying decorative items, serving food, or holding everyday accessories, while the numerous cupboards and drawers keep household items organized and out of sight. The neutral cream palette and classic French chateau style complement both traditional and transitional interior schemes, serving as a functional focal point against a large wall.

FAQs

A French enfilade is a long, low storage piece originating in France, characterised by a series of doors and drawers arranged in a continuous linear alignment.

Traditional French enfilades are commonly constructed from solid hardwoods such as oak, walnut, or fruitwood, often topped with natural stone or marble slabs and fitted with wrought iron or brass hardware.

Authentic pieces display hand-carved joinery details, hand-chipped stone or marble edges, historical painted finish layers, and original metal hardware fittings.

A large enfilade works as a focal point in expansive dining rooms, wide hallways, or open-plan living areas, offering extensive surface space for oversized art or table lamps.

Clean the marble surface with pH-neutral stone cleaners to prevent etching, and dust the painted woodwork with a soft, dry cloth while avoiding abrasive chemical cleaners.
