Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Boot scrapers became widespread during the 19th century as urban street paving expanded alongside unpaved carriage roads, serving to clean mud from footwear prior to entering domestic interiors.

These pieces were crafted by pouring molten pig iron into sand moulds, creating heavy, durable decorative forms capable of withstanding outdoor weathering.

Authentic examples display crisp casting seam lines, substantial physical weight, and natural surface patination or surface oxidisation rather than uniform modern powder coatings.

They function effectively when positioned adjacent to an entryway doorway, utilised as heavy floor-standing doorstops, or arranged on a low hearth in a hallway.

Keep the iron dry to prevent active corrosion, brush clean gently with a soft dry bristle brush, and apply a thin coat of microcrystalline wax to protect the weathered surface.
