This Georgian mahogany gentleman's wardrobe exhibits a warm brown colour with a rich timber grain and polished finish throughout. The upper section comprises a pair of fielded panel doors beneath a carved Vitruvian scroll frieze, fitted with working locks and keys. Below the main doors sit two short drawers over one long drawer, all retaining their traditional brass swan-neck handles with ornate backplates. The piece is raised on shaped bracket feet at the base, displaying clean edge mouldings around the doors and drawers. Standing 179 cm high, 129 cm wide and 61 cm deep, the wardrobe separates into two main sections for transport. In a contemporary home, this traditional item functions practically in a bedroom or dressing room for hanging garments and storing folded clothes. The spacious lower drawers provide additional storage capacity for accessories, while the classic silhouette and warm mahogany tones suit a study, landing or period interior setting.

A Georgian gentlemans wardrobe, frequently designed as a linen or clothes press, is an 18th-century storage cabinet featuring a double-door upper section positioned over a chest of drawers.

These pieces were typically constructed using dense mahogany, featuring hand-dovetailed drawer linings, oak or pine secondary timbers, and cast brass hardware.

Authentic period pieces exhibit hand-sawn timber marks, hand-cut dovetail joints, original brass escutcheons, natural timber patination, and classical architectural mouldings.

A Georgian wardrobe functions as a focal storage piece in master bedrooms, dressing rooms, or wide hallways, introducing warmth and historical structure alongside contemporary decor.

Dust surfaces regularly using a soft dry cloth, apply a beeswax polish annually along the wood grain, and maintain stable indoor humidity levels away from direct heat sources.
