This 1940s Omega military wristwatch is a mechanical timepiece styled for mid-century utility. The object consists of a round stainless steel case with a fluted winding crown on the right side, paired with a striped black and grey fabric strap secured by standard lugs. A matte black dial sits beneath a clear glass cover, displaying luminous white Arabic numerals from one to twelve, alongside luminous sword hands and an outer railroad minute track. A small sub-seconds register is positioned at the six o'clock mark, complete with a fine white hand and index markings. The silver-coloured metal surfaces show minor surface scratches consistent with historical service use, while the luminous paint exhibits visible ageing and patina. The case measures 36 mm in width excluding the crown, 46 mm in height, and 11 mm in depth. Suitable for a gentleman's library or study desk display, this wristwatch serves as a functional timepiece or a collectible display item. The mechanical movement is operated manually via the side crown, winding the internal 15-jewel mechanism. Placed on a flat surface or mounted on a watch stand, the piece integrates into traditional interior settings focusing on mid-century military history. The neutral silver, black, and grey palette matches timber desks, leather accessories, and vintage desk collections.

The term refers to twelve companies commissioned by the British Ministry of Supply during World War II to produce durable, waterproof wristwatches marked W.W.W. for military personnel.

These watches were constructed using stainless steel or chrome-plated cases, shatter-resistant acrylic crystals, and luminescent paint on the hands and markers for low-light visibility.

Authentic pieces feature specific military markings on the case back, such as the broad arrow symbol, W.W.W. designation, and military serial numbers, alongside original dial configurations like sub-seconds dials.

Military watches pair naturally with casual, utilitarian, or smart-casual attire, often customised with canvas NATO straps or leather bands to complement modern wardrobe aesthetics.

Mechanical wristwatches require regular servicing by a qualified horologist every three to five years, avoiding exposure to moisture, strong magnetic fields, and physical impacts.
