Collinge Antiques has dated this Victorian Mahogany Pedestal Sideboard to the 19th Century.
Raised on cupboard pedestals either side of a large recess, fitted on the left hand side with a single adjustable shelf and on the right with a large large bottle drawer and a single shelf (internal depth of the cupboards 18"). Wonderfully exuberant foliate carving applied to the large central drawer front and a carved grape and leaf detail between the slimmer drawers above. Broad tapering column pilasters to the doors with gadrooned tops and lovely carved detail to the bases, large period brass knobs. Symmetrical flame mahogany veneers to the panel at the back of the recess. Mahogany veneered sides and plinth. Patched repairs toward the rear corners of both sides of the top. Otherwise excellent colour and condition, restored cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
