Description

A substantial antique Scottish mahogany chest with an architectural façade, finely figured drawer fronts and a distinctive arrangement of eight drawers. The upper section is composed of four smaller drawers flanking a broad central drawer, with three full-width drawers below, providing generous storage across a compact vertical format. Richly figured mahogany veneers animate the fronts, while turned wooden knobs, inset keyholes and fine line detailing give the piece a restrained decorative character. The central upper drawer is framed by a beaded border, echoed by the gadrooned moulding running beneath the top and along the lower edge of the case.
