Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

A tazza is a shallow, wide dish supported by a central stem and base, historically used for display or serving. When crafted with champleve enamel, metalworkers carve recesses into the metal surface, which are then filled with vitreous enamel paste and fired to produce vivid, durable surface decoration.

Nineteenth-century metal artisans cast decorative vessels in bronze or brass before gilding the surface via electroplating or mercury gilding. Intricate patterns were acid-etched or gouged into the metal, filled with ground glass enamels of various colours, and fired at high temperatures before being ground smooth and polished.

Authentic pieces generally display fine casting marks, sharp hand-chased metal details, and heavy visual weight due to solid bronze construction. The enamel surfaces often show subtle age-appropriate micro-crazing or minor pitting under magnification, along with uniform, rich gilding on un-enamelled areas.

An antique tazza serves as a refined focal point when placed atop a sideboard, console table, or mantelpiece. It can be displayed independently as a sculpture or used as a catch-all tray for small trinkets and jewellery in a contemporary bedroom or entryway.

Clean gilt bronze and enamel objects using a soft, lint-free microfibre cloth or a soft-bristled brush to remove dust from crevices. Avoid abrasive polishes, harsh chemicals, or soaking in water, as moisture and solvents can degrade the gilding or damage vulnerable enamel cells.
