1947 Omega 'Jumbo' Stainless Steel Wristwatch

Description

A 1947 Omega 'Jumbo' stainless steel wristwatch. A silvered dial with a warm, even patina. The dial shows light spotting and has a desirable champagne patination. Applied steel Arabic numerals and Omega logo above the printed script. An oversized subsidiary seconds dial with baton 5 second markers. Steel 'leaf' style hands indicate the hours and minutes.

The case sizes on these Omega models are given the term 'Jumbo' due to the size difference that sets them apart from their contempories. A three piece case body with a snap on back, the central back is finished in a brushed steel in contrast to the sides. Original Omega winding crown. Case reference 2505-15.

The watch is powered by a 17 jewel, manual wind Omega caliber 265 mechanism. Serial numbers date this watch to 1947.
