19th Century Cast Iron Signal Cannon on Oak Carriage

Description

A decorative 19th-century cast iron signal cannon, mounted upon a substantial oak naval-style carriage. The tapered barrel has raised reinforcing rings and a flared muzzle, supported between stepped side cheeks secured with metal trunnion caps.

The carriage is fitted with four wooden wheels and brass linchpins, giving the piece an authentic and characterful appearance. The ironwork retains an aged dark patina, complemented by the warm colour and grain of the oak.

A striking decorative piece for a study, library or maritime collection. The cannon has not been tested and is offered as a decorative display piece.
