Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Popular during the 18th and 19th centuries, portrait miniatures are small-scale detailed likenesses often executed on paper, vellum, or ivory and encased in protective decorative frames.

Frames from this period frequently incorporated fine hardwood veneers such as rosewood or mahogany, accented with gilded wooden inner slips, glass panes, and brass hanging hardware.

Authentic items feature era-appropriate fashions, hairstyles, period hand-application techniques, original hand-cut glass with slight distortions, and natural patination or oxidisation on metal fittings.

Miniature artwork can be grouped to create a gallery wall or positioned in narrow architectural spaces such as staircase walls, alcoves, or flanking a mantelpiece to add historical contrast.

Store and display artwork away from direct sunlight and moisture to prevent fading and foxing, and clean the wooden frame using only a soft, dry microfibre cloth.
