Stylish George II Oak Country House Three Drawer

Description

A stylish George II period figured oak country house three drawer dresser with superb detail throughout c.1740. Planked figured oak top with deep moulded edge sat over three drawers. The drawers with matching figured timbers and red walnut crossbanding strung with ebony and fruitwood to the inner edge along with a moulded outer edge. Moulded waist line below the drawers, which sweeps down at the ends above the legs, matching design repeated to the sides. Simple cabriole front legs sat to each corner with pad feet to the ends, plus square legs to the rear and flush panels to the sides. Superbly made and detailed throughout; presented in excellent original condition with a mellow colour and rich patina. Keep up to date via our Instagram channel - sturmansantiques.
