Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

British sporting art traditionally focuses on working dogs, hounds, and sighthounds set within naturalistic landscape backgrounds. Developed predominantly in the eighteenth to early twentieth centuries, these works emphasize anatomical accuracy and the connection between the animal and the English countryside.

Paintings from the Edwardian era were typically rendered using oil pigments ground with drying oils on stretched linen canvas or wood panel. Frames were constructed from carved timber or molded plaster with hand-applied gold leaf gilding.

Authentic period paintings show natural surface craquelure, subtle oxidisation of the paint layer, and signs of age on the canvas backing or timber stretcher. Period frames will show natural wear to the gilded finish, revealing underlying bole or gesso layers.

Antique animal portraits can be integrated into modern spaces by hanging them above a sideboard, layering them on shelving, or incorporating them into a gallery wall alongside contemporary prints to create visual contrast.

Display the painting away from direct sunlight, excess humidity, and direct heat sources to prevent cracking or warping. Dust the surface lightly with a soft, dry camel-hair brush and avoid using liquid cleaners without professional conservation guidance.
