White Space Antiques has dated this 17th Century Religious Painting to the 17th Century.
Canvas, with edges glued to board.

Such devotional pieces - often associated with Spanish or Flemish Baroque traditions (such as the circle of Francisco de Zurbarán or Philippe de Champaigne) - symbolise the miraculous imprint of Christ's face.

CONDITION:
For 400+ years old, this oil on canvas is in remarkable condition. Some minor scratches to canvas. Would benefit from cleaning, and would look stunning in a gilt frame. The very edges of this canvas have been glued to a board, presumably to stabilise and preserve the canvas.
PROVENANCE:
Purchased from a Monastery in Barcelona, Spain.
