Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Edwardian wardrobe design, prominent from 1901 to 1910, favoured lighter classical proportions compared to heavy Victorian predecessors. Pieces typically feature rich mahogany or satinwood construction, fine timber stringing, bow marquetry inlays, and prominent mirrored doors.

Edwardian wardrobes were commonly crafted using solid mahogany framing with fine mahogany and satinwood veneers. Construction hallmarks include hand-cut dovetail joints on drawers, bevelled glass mirror panels, and solid timber backboards.

Authentic Edwardian wardrobes can be identified by light-coloured decorative wood inlays, such as ribbon bows and urns, combined with symmetrical paneling and period brass hardware. Dovetailed drawer linings and original locking mechanisms also confirm authenticity.

An Edwardian wardrobe can serve as a focal statement piece in a contemporary bedroom or dressing room. Pairing the warm timber tones with light neutral walls and minimalist textiles creates a balanced contrast between historic cabinetry and modern design.

To preserve an antique mahogany wardrobe, maintain a consistent humidity level and positioning away from direct heat sources and sunlight. Dust surfaces using a soft microfibre cloth and apply a natural beeswax polish periodically to preserve the finish.
