Antique Victorian Mahogany Chest of Drawers

Description

A substantial Victorian mahogany chest of drawers, featuring an arrangement of two short drawers over three graduated long drawers, each fitted with turned wooden handles and with attractive figured mahogany to the drawer fronts. Below is a shaped apron, while the chest stands on turned feet. All drawers run smoothly. Overall, an attractive and practical piece.

CONDITION REPORT:

Fair overall antique condition, with wear commensurate with age and use. The drawers run well. There are watermarks and staining to the top, along with areas of uneven finish and general surface wear. Minor veneer losses are present around the drawer fronts and to the shaped apron, as shown in the photographs. There are also light scratches, knocks and scuffs throughout. The chest remains structurally sound and is an attractive, usable piece with a pleasing colour and patina despite the cosmetic wear.
