This is a superb 19th century Anglo Indian sofa or Bombay sofa in fabulously carved hardwood. The fine sofa has been totally reupholstered and recovered in a good quality linen cloth which is likely by Colefax & Fowler, with an attractive tropical design.The fabric is all bordered by brass head studding and the ornate frame is beautifully carved with incredible detail including millefiore, scrolling ivy and a pair of fine tigers heads to the arms.This is in excellent order ready for use in the home and measures 163 cms in width by 90 cms high and 80 cms in depth.
