This nineteenth-century Victorian folk art framed textile depicts a stylised tiger in a landscape setting with stylised foliage. Made from wool, canvas, wood, and glass, the wool work panel uses warm brown tones combined with blues and greens across the naive stitchwork texture and features a modernist appearance with a psychedelic tree motif. The square needlepoint panel sits within its original period dark polished moulded wooden frame, which shows visible signs of surface wear and scuffs across the wood. Two metal hanging rings are attached to the top edge of the frame by short cords. The piece measures 74 cm high by 77.5 cm wide. It works well placed in a gentleman's library, particularly hung above a sideboard to add a vibrant riot of colour and character to an interior wall.
