A large and well-made antique serpentine mahogany chest of drawers, of generous proportions. The chest is fitted with five graduating drawers, each retaining brass swan neck handles and key escutcheons. The drawer fronts are veneered in beautifully figured mahogany, framed by striking crossbanding and delicate boxwood stringing, while the top is finished with matching crossbanding and fine line inlay. The front corners are decorated with elegant satinwood line inlaid panels, adding further refinement to an already impressive piece. Raised on shaped bracket feet, the serpentine front gives the chest a graceful profile, complemented by the rich colour and attractive figuring of the mahogany throughout.
