Antique Afshar Rug, Neiriz Region, Kerman Province, South Persia.

£4,000    $5,344    €4,677
A spectacular rug made by the Afshar tribes of the Neiriz region, Kerman Province, southern Persia circa 1900.

The rug comprises a large madder-red central sun-flower on a beautiful glowing indigo-blue ground and surrounded by four smaller sun-flowers. Note also the vases containing small, ivory flowers emanating from both top and bottom of the field. The overall palette of natural colours is simply magnificent and the condition of the rug is excellent with soft, lustrous pile. A truly handsome rug.
