Still Life Oil Painting by Belgian Artist Victor Simonin

Description

An extremely attractive early 20th century still life oil painting by Victor Simonin (1877 - 1946), signed bottom right corner V. Simonin. Described as a "tender bohemian", Victor Simonin was a Belgium artist predominately known for his spirited landscapes and still life's. Hailing from Ixelles, his legacy is one of vibrant arrangements underpinned by intelligent compositions, both expressive and respectful in tradition. He trained at the royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels and trained under several masters. This richly coloured oil painting of his depicts flowers, pottery and bottles displayed on a table, which is framed a charming looking wooden painted frame with a wonderful decorative gilt fronting. It is in good condition and is ready to hang. Dimensions provided are for the overall picture including the frame. The internal picture dimensions are W:72cm and H:53cm.
