Elegant C18th George III period mahogany ‘stick’ barometer with an engraved silvered scale and architecturally inspired top.

The flamed mahogany case with a domed architecturally-inspired top having a turned classical column support to each side and a dentil moulding surround . The unsigned engraved and silvered brass register plates being clearly marked to show the weather conditions consistent with the barometric pressure, and having an adjustable brass pointer to the side to record movement .

The glass mercury tube runs the full length of the body , the cistern contained in a squared base with a removable panel .

In excellent original condition with a rich colour and patina to the mahogany.
