CONDITION REPORT:
In good antique condition overall, with some signs of age. There is surface wear throughout, including age-related marks, knocks, and scratches consistent with use. There is evidence of historic woodworm around the base, but this has long gone and been treated as a precaution. There is some loss to the carving on the right-hand side, along with minor loss to the top edge beneath the marble, as shown in the photographs. These do not detract from the overall appearance or functionality of the piece. The chest remains structurally solid and sound - a lovely example.
