A gorgeous bed with fabulous shaping. It is not often we come across king size beds with the fabulous arched shape seen in the head end panel. A unique design with the inner workings of the panel showing 5 leaf-like shaped sections with floral castings, connected by a nicely sized central casting. Really nice detail and design on this one, please see all the photos.

Fully restored to be sturdy, practical and beautiful. Whole frame cleaned and tested for durability. Shot blasted and primed prior to hand paint finish in Little Greene’s Lamp Black, waxed over to protect and give a soft sheen. All joints checked for secure fit.

Suitable for standard King size mattress 5’ x 6’6” / 150cm x 200cm.

The bed is photographed on a 2” bed base with our Bordeaux mattresses. We can supply hand-made mattresses in all comfort choices, and also with zip and link connections. Please see our web site or email for specifications and prices.

Victorian iron bed frames emerged in the nineteenth century as a response to demands for improved sanitation and durable construction. They characteristically feature decorative cast or wrought iron headboards with arched, linear, or botanical scrollwork.

These beds were manufactured using a combination of hand-wrought iron bars for the decorative framing and poured cast iron decorative knuckles or joints at the connection points.
