Antique Mahogany Console / Server Table

Description

A wonderful antique mahogany console / server table, made in England and dating from around the 1890-1910 period.

It is of outstanding quality, with gorgeous carving on all the edges. This is an impressive size, the drawers have high quality brass handles and fine, hand cut dovetailed joints.

We have had this re-polished, it is in excellent condition for its age. The mahogany has a stunning colour tone and amazing grain patterns, this has a beautiful all round patina.

This antique Georgian Revival console and server table dates from the 1890 period and is constructed in England from dark brown mahogany with flame mahogany veneer. The piece presents a serpentine curved front and a top surface with a raised back gallery edge. Detailed relief carving decorates the top edge moulding and the frieze beneath, complemented by vertical carved detailing on the corner blocks. Three drawers are fitted across the front, each furnished with ornate cast brass pull handles. The framework is supported by four square tapered legs that incorporate detailed turning above shaped block feet. Measuring 87 cm high by 138 cm wide and 59 cm deep, the table fits naturally in a hallway, dining room or living room as a side surface or serving station.
