Description

An excellent 18th-century English oak sideboard of generous proportions, displaying the warm, mellowed surface and deep patination that only centuries of use can produce. The arrangement is traditional and well balanced, with three small drawers across the top, two drawers below in the centre and fielded-panel cupboard doors to either side. Each drawer retains its brass ring pulls, and the doors are fitted with original-style brass hinges and escutcheons. The oak is richly figured, with a pleasing, time-softened sheen and honest wear consistent with age. A robust and highly practical piece of 18th Century country furniture, offering ample storage and a wonderfully characterful presence in a kitchen, hallway, or dining room.
