This nineteenth century Anglo-Indian sideboard is an architectural piece of Victorian furniture made from dark brown padauk timber. The substantial case stands upon four round carved bun feet below a heavily moulded body. The front presents four cupboard doors displaying dense pierced floral and foliate fretwork, complemented by relief-carved side panels and intricate mouldings throughout. A low carved gallery backrest runs across the top surface, adorned with detailed foliate and animal motifs. The wood finish exhibits a rich dark grain with varied brown tones under natural light.
