Antique silver Lejon pocket watch.The watch has a stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed with the lion logo of Manufacture d''Horlogerie Lejon. The name Lejon (lion) was first registered by the company in Sweden in 1912, and indeed the design of the watch was typical of watches destined for Scandinavia.The movement is protected by an inner cover which has an image of Britannia, the female personification of Britain, seated with a shield and spear. It also has details of the movement including � chronometer, an older horological term for a high quality watch that has been adjusted for temperature variations and in various positions.The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is 800 silver and there are Continental marks inside the case back, along with the Lejon lion mark.The case has a rose gold wash around the edge� as with the majority of cases of this design, there is some rubbing to the wash. ...
