The colours are subtle and harmonious with an impressive open design which would work equally well in period and contemporary settings. Note the archaic drawing of the medallion and ivory spandrels. Also unusual is that the field and border have the same abrashed terracotta shades, very elegant. One could imagine this carpet enhancing a drawing room, study or even a bedroom. Finely knotted with zero warp depression and single-wefted, it is an excellent example of the North-West Persian carpet weaving in the last quarter of the 19th century.
