A wonderfully honest and substantial Welsh oak dresser, late 18th century, displaying all the charm and integrity expected of a true country house piece. The upper rack survives in original form, with triple fixed shelves and wide backboards, showing a rich, dry, age-darkened surface.
Below, the base is fitted with three full-length drawers, each with later but appropriate brass handles, the fronts with a warm, time-worn patina and period dovetailed construction. The dresser stands on square supports united by an open pot board—classic West/Wales proportions—ideal for displaying pottery or pewter.
Presented in country house condition, with historic wear, surface losses, and old repairs consistent with 250 years of service, all contributing to its beautifully authentic character.
