Antique Bakhtiari Rug, The Chahar Mahal Region, Western Persia.

The overall ground in this fabulous rug, made by Bakhtiari tribes circa 1900, is covered in the ''mina khani'' pattern or nectar blossom design. The rug is in near-mint condition with lustrous, glossy wool, taken from the mountain fat-tailed sheep, knotted on a cotton foundation. The main border contains a continuous vine symbolising the eternal cycle of life.
