Doulton Lambeth Art Nouveau Sporting Stoneware Jug, circa 1890s

A fine Doulton Lambeth stoneware jug in the Art Nouveau style, dating from the 1890s. The jug features a tan-coloured body with a glazed foliage tube design set against a dot-relief pattern on the tapered upper section.

Decorated in relief with sporting-themed figures depicting football, shot put, and running. The base bears the impressed Doulton Lambeth stamp along with the artist’s initials RB, for Rosina Brown. A metal band encircles the rim.

Dimensions:.20.5cm high by approx. 13.5cm wide

Condition: A minor 2 mm sliver is missing from the lip of the spout, likely caused during the mounting of the metal rim. Otherwise in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, or restoration.

A beautifully crafted and rare piece of late 19th-century sporting memorabilia.
