Culvertons has dated this Rosewood Banjo Wheel Barometer to the 19th Century.
Its case is decorated in rosewood with intricate mother of pearl inlay. The engraved and silvered barometer and thermometer dials are in good condition, as is the original mother of pearl adjusting knob, that turns the responsive fretted pointer. As you can see from the photographs of the reverse, the barometer is currently set up to be transported. Its Mercury appears to be clean and free of air bubbles. A lovely example of an early Victorian wheel or banjo barometer.
