A beautiful Karagashli rug fragment. Woven in the Northern Caucasus mountains in the mid or even early 19th century.
Originally, this would have been a long rug, but it has been cut down and had borders removed to form a useful little runner. Despite its now diminutive size, having some obvious old repairs to the field and corroded borders, its exquisite drawing and sparkling natural dyes make this rug a little Jewel. Deep cleaned and suitable for light use on the floor or a wonderful wall hanging, all ends and sides secured.
