George III Cuban Mahogany Chest of Drawers c.1780
A late 18th century North Country chest of drawers in well-figured Cuban mahogany.
Two short drawers over three long, all cockbeaded and fitted with brass swan-neck handles. Fluted corner pilasters to each side, raised on shaped bracket feet.
The timber has a good rich colour and a natural aged surface. It has some marks and wear, as you''d expect — including a few blemishes to the top and splits to each side panel — but it’s structurally sound and the drawers run well.
Removed from a Wiltshire manor house.
