1930s Favor Full Hunter Pocket Watch

1920 - 1940
Sold 20 October 2025 · The Vintage Wrist Watch Company
This “1930s Favor Full Hunter Pocket Watch” found a buyer.

It was listed by The Vintage Wrist Watch Company. Sold pieces stay on Sellingantiques as a record of what has passed through, and the next one is rarely far away.

Description

1930s Favor full hunter pocket watch.

The watch has a stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 53mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The watch has a good quality gold plated case. It is beautifully detailed on the front and the back with an Art Deco design. The case is in very nice condition, just the odd light mark.

The winding crown pushes in to release the front cover. Inside there is a glass lens which is in lovely condition (lots of white reflection showing in the photos).

The dial is signed Favor, a brand name registered by at least nine companies over the years but we believe this to be a Schätzle & Tschudin piece. The dial is in beautiful original condition with original hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute markers.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.

Declaration

The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this Vintage Gold Pocket Watch to the 1930s.

Dealers Notes

ALL PRICES INCLUDE UK POSTAGE (because of GPSR legislation, we no longer post items less than 100 years old to Europe, including Northern Ireland).

Please contact us regarding international shipping.

All of our watches are checked over before listing, and are also checked for accuracy which is usually within around +/- two to three minutes over 24 hours (unless otherwise stated), which is considered respectable for a vintage watch.

We are a VAT registered company and all purchases are covered by Consumer Regulations.

Credit / debit card purchases up to £300 can be made over the telephone on 01386 750238 or you can proceed via the 'Purchase Antique' button on each listing page. Alternatively, there is a Paypal payment link if you scroll down the page and we also accept bank transfers.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A full hunter pocket watch features a spring-loaded metal cover that protects the glass dial face from scratches and damage, requiring the user to press a button on the crown to open the case.

Timepieces from this era were commonly crafted from rolled gold, gold-filled metal, sterling silver, or base metals finished with nickel or gold plating, housing intricate brass and steel mechanical movements.

Authenticity is verified by examining the hallmark stamps inside the case back, checking the serial number against maker databases, and inspecting the quality and jewelling of the mechanical movement.

A vintage pocket watch can be displayed inside a glass dome on a mantelpiece, mounted in a shadow box frame, or placed on a desk stand as a sophisticated horological accent.

Mechanical watches require regular professional servicing every three to five years to clean and lubricate the gears, and should be wound gently at a consistent time each day if running.
