Clodion-inspired sculptures typically reflect the Neoclassical and Rococo Revival styles of the 18th and 19th centuries, focusing on mythological subjects such as bacchantes, satyrs, and dancing nymphs.

These pieces were traditionally crafted using the lost-wax method (cire perdue) to cast high-grade bronze, often finished with a rich patination ranging from deep brown to golden hues.

Authentication involves examining the quality of the chasing, the depth and colour of the patina, the presence of foundry marks or signatures, and the overall crispness of the cast details.

An antique bronze statue works well as a focal point on a mantlepiece, side table, or within a bookcase, contrasting effectively against minimalist or contemporary architectural backdrops.

Bronze should be dusted gently with a soft, dry cloth and occasionally treated with microcrystalline wax to protect the patina from moisture and handling oils; avoid harsh chemical cleaners.
