In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

FAQs

Iron and brass beds gained immense popularity during the Victorian era as industrial manufacturing advanced, offering a hygienic and durable alternative to traditional wooden beds.

These pieces typically utilise cast iron frames, brass fittings, and tubular iron rails, assembled with dovetail joints or heavy bolts to ensure structural integrity.

Authentic period pieces often feature hand-poured iron castings, makers marks, authentic patina, and construction methods characteristic of late 19th-century metalworking.

Pairing the metallic frame with crisp white linens, natural wood flooring, and tactile textiles creates a balanced aesthetic that bridges historic charm and modern minimalism.

Maintain the finish by dusting regularly with a soft cloth and avoiding harsh chemical cleaners that can damage the original painted surface or protective wax coatings.
