Size: 5ft 11in x 3ft 10in (181 x 117cm).Antique Caucasian Bordjalou Kazak prayer rug of three medallion design, Bordjalou is the most northerly town that produced Kazak rugs.Dated 1326 which translates to 1908.The rug has a dark indigo blue ground with three red octagonal medallions each containing a latch hook device. The rug is dated just below the mihrab ''1326'' 1908. The borders are a feature of the rug, the inner and outer guards are a reciprocal design in red and green, the main border in ivory and charcoal brown is of a reciprocal design typically associated with Bordjalou rugs. Note the pair of water or oil ewers either side of the mihrab, a sign of cleanliness.The rug is in excellent condition with even wear and medium / low pile.
