Large Room Size Antique Kashgai Carpet

1920 - 1940
Description

This is a warm woollen Kashgai carpet dating from the early 20th Century. The handwoven carpet has a typical Kashgai design with a central lozenge set within a warm red field, stylised floral motifs throughout and also stylised horses to it. The warm color palette has faded slightly over its life and now is nicely muted, the shade to the corners of the carpet being more of a steel blue.

The carpet is in very overall with quite a deep pile and it measures 305 cms by 196 cms.
