Small Georgian mahogany bow chest
This Small Georgian mahogany bow chest was made circa 1810.
This George III mahogany chest has the brushing slide, that pulls out by using the decorative brass pulls.
Brushing slides were originally for the gentlemans valet to brush his trousers before use, this is a charming look back into social history, imagine the valet preparing the gentlemans cloths for the day ahead.
The bow fronted chest has embossed brass handles with swing handles fitted to the 3 graduated drawers.
It stands on the French splay feet, a most elegant look.
Antique chests of drawers of small size are rare and desirable.
This lovely example can be used in many places around a modern home, in bedroom settings or in informal drawing room or downstairs settings.
