This commode is a particularly interesting piece of French provincial furniture of the 18th century.
The use of solid timber like this is very rare for this period, the piece being made in the late 18th century in the Louis XVI neoclassical style.
The commode has three equally sized drawers, all of which retain their original ormolu handles and escutcheons. It has half round and fluted pilaster columns to the sides and stands on toupie feet.
