Louis Icart ( 1888 - 1950 ) Original Etching and Aquatint on paper, framed and signed in pencil on lower right border and ''blind stamp'' windmill on lower left border with number 338.
 
The etching ''Marchande de Fleurs'' ( Flower Seller ) was published in 1928. Copyright 1928 by L. Icart. Paris - Edite par les Graveurs Moderne, 194 rue de Rivoli, Paris. The plate measures 38cm x 47cm. Overall measurements including the frame 55cm x 69cm. It is in the original gilt wood frame, but has just had a new mount and backing. Excellent condition. No foxing or fading.
 
Louis Icart was a French artist best known for his drawings of glamorous women - often erotic or humorous in tone - as well as for his depiction of 1920s Paris life. He was born in Toulouse in 1888, and began drawing at a young age. In 1907 he moved to Paris and began studying painting, drawing and printmaking.
