Description

Antique silver Hebdomas Patent pocket watch, 1919.

The watch has a stem-winding movement which is working nicely.

The watch measures 47mm diameter excluding the winding stem and loop. The case is silver and is hallmarked inside the case back for London (import mark), 1919, together with a sponsor’s mark for George Stockwell. From 1 June 1907, Stockwells acted as assay agents, facilitating the import into Britain of foreign gold and silver items which had to be assayed and hallmarked in a UK assay office before being released for retail.

The case has a small “ding” at the bottom next to the hinge, and some fairly gentle unevenness to the case back.

The acrylic lens is in lovely condition.

The signed dial has lovely hand painted and enamel detailing. Exposed balance and regulator synonymous with Hebdomas. There is a hairline running down from the centre of the dial but it is faint.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
