Antique Victorian Pedestal Dressing table.A beautiful Mahogany dressing table with lots of storage.We are offering this excellent condition original Victorian Mahogany Ladies vanity pedestal dressing table made around C1870.Either side of the dressing table are 2 small jewellery draw units each of which have 3 quality finely dovetailed drawers with their original small Mahogany knobs. The drawer units are affixed to the top which house the shaped and carved mirror supports. The mirror is complete with its original glass (one small area of foxing) and has a beautifully shaped & moulded Mahogany frame, the mirror is held firmly when tilted by its original brass clamps to the rear.The dressing table also features a beautifully shaped breakfront with a solid Mahogany moulded top complete with a hidden shaped drawer to the centre. Flanking the serpentine front are 2 drawer pedestals with rounded corners each housing 4 beautifully dovetail constructed solid Mahogany drawers. As a sign of the cabinet makers craftsmanship, the drawers can be placed into the carcasses upside down and still work perfectly. Each drawer retains its original pair of turned Mahogany knobs with no breaks or repairs.Slightly recessed into the centre is a lovely flame Mahogany drawer hidden in the frieze.The whole dressing table stands on its original castors which are concealed underneath the pedestal plinths.This dressing table has been sympathetically restored maintaining original patina, signs of age and has a lovely deep rich original colour and lightly faded French polished finish. We have just enhanced this item by cleaning and carefully waxing this item to give a natural lustrous sheen and preserve and protect the item.Please note this item is in very good condition for its age but will have the odd blemish here and there.
