Antique Sarab Woollen Carpet Runner

1900 - 1920
Description

This is a beautiful handwoven Sarab runner carpet from North West Iran, circa 1920.

In typical Sarab design of five linked hexagonal medallions, the carpet has a nicely muted colour pallete with an abrashed camel ground and soft coral, olive green and blue all featured. The runner is framed by triple borders of angular vines and reciprocal guard stripes with an outer border in deep olive and teal.

This is in excellent ready to use condition and looks very smart down. The runner is a good size measuring 324 cms by 99 cms.
