Description

Handsome Japanese Meiji (early 20thC) bronze vase by Oshima Joun (1858-1940) decorated with relief carving of sweetfish (ayu), persimmon and apples. Measures 26.5cm high x 14cm diameter (widest part), weight 2.3kg.

Excellent original condition and patina.

Oshima Joun (1858-1940) was a Japanese sculptor and artist, noted for his great artistry and skill in bronze casting. He was also a distinguished professor at the Tokyo School of Fine Arts.
